In den "Deutsch-Rumänischen Heften" XIII(2)/Winter 2010 erschien folgende Rezension zu Simon Geissbühlers Buch "Spuren, die vergehen".
In seinem neuesten Buch "Like Shells on a Shore. Synagogues and Jewish Cemeteries of Northern Moldavia" präsentiert Simon Geissbühler die Spuren jüdischen Seins in Nordmoldawien (Botoşani, Bucecea, Dorohoi, Mihaileni, Hertsa, Khotin, Ataki, Soroca, Zguritsa, Rezina, Vadul-Rashkov, Rashkov, Orhei und Iaşi): Not everything is lost yet. There are still wonderful, magical places like the Jewish cemeteries in Botoşani, Vadul-Rashkov and Orhei, the Great Synagogue in Iaşi or the ruins of the magnificent synagogue in Rashkov. They are like shells on a shore when the sea of living memory has receded. But the clock is ticking away. The last traces of Jewish Northern Moldavia that was wiped out in the Holocaust are vanishing rapidly.
"Although it's a short book (107 pages), it is at the same time deep, sad, beautiful and contains very nice pictures."
Cassio Tolpolar, http://moldovaimpressions.blogspot.com
"Simon documents the Jewish sites he finds in the region, [...] but he also gives thoughtful views on the nature of heritage, Jewish heritage and memory in these places."
Ruth Ellen Gruber, http://jewish-heritage-travel.blogspot.com
